AP Moeller-Maersk, the Danish conglomerate
http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/multim...5-_999010c.jpg AP Moeller-Maersk, the Danish conglomerate that owns the world’s biggest shipping line, capped a gloomy third-quarter season of profit warnings from global businesses by cutting its earnings expectations for the year. The company said that it was trimming its forecast to $3.4 billion, down from $4 billion given at the halfway stage, because of the fall in freight shipping rates and its impact on the Maersk Line. Rates have been under pressure because of the slowdown in the Chinese and eurozone economies and less demand for consumer goods. |
